Hi all

Apologies for replying to this post - although it is very much related to my query; it is not clear how I can post a new thread??

I am based in London, but considering a 12-24 month contract available to me out in Mauritius working for a local Mauritian company owned by a French parent company... for which I already work in London.
I am South African and big on outdoors and fishing, and I'm keen to get out of the concrete jungle in London for a while; plus I will be closer to family in South Africa (Durban / Natal midlands)
I have been to Mauritius for 9 days holiday in May 2008, and besides some unfortunate weather and food poisoning from a restaurant in Grand Baie - I loved it! I even managed a deep sea fishing trip and caught a dorado.

I am interested in finding out about:
a) the cost of permanent accomodation for a one, two or three bedroom place, near the coast - between Flic en Flac and Grand Baie?
and
b) salary surveys - to consider local salary levels for someone in my position
and
c) visa regulations for working for a registered local company in Mauritius. I have a South African and British passports.

I am a finance professional (accountant) working in the international media production industry... looking to take up the opportunity for a similar local role a bit inland from Port Louis.

This would be from as soon as May2009.

Will be very grateful for any leads you can give me please?
