Yes private message works. Just click on my user name and you should be able to send me a private message. Since I'm the Admin I should be able to email you as well.

"I would be based in Ebene, hence would like to live on west/ north-west / north side of the island; as near to on the coast as possible.
I imagine cycling (? maybe too far), bussing or driving a motorcycle/scooter to work and back."
Cycling, it kind of goes uphill till Ebene, and the roads leading there are mainly highways and the traffic is pretty dense in the morning. A good motorcycle could be better, or a scooter. You could get past the traffic...

So you want to stay at the beach, but kind of close to Ebene. Flic en Flac is definitely closer then. The north is further away, and to go to your work you would always need to pass through Port Louis which is always traffic jammed in the mornings and afternoons. You then might need to wake up 2 hours earlier in order to get to work on time... Whereby from Flic en Flac you'll have as from Quatre Bornes some traffic, but its really close to Ebene.

At the moment I don't have anything to offer in the region of Flic en Flac, I suppose as from April maybe. But in this forum there are several people who have found their stay in flic en flac, maybe they can give a hint here where...

Also you'll be close to Tamarin and other places in the Black River district, its a pretty neat district, it might remember you a bit of SA, it even has a rugby field!

"I intend to get a boat for deep sea fishing and sightseeing, plus I am an obsessive fly-fisherman also, hence I'm keen to look at places near the beach please?"
But you'll need a boat licence to operate them here. Do you have any such licence. Else you'll need to pass it here. Takes quite sometime.

"You are close on your understanding of the business:
The business already exists in Mauritius, for years, as is local... employing local employees. It is one of our global production hubs; and I have the opportunity to go out to implement our standard (global) group systems and processes and manage the growth, investment and profitability of this hub."
Sounds like ACCENTURE to me, but i could be wrong I have friends working there. But in Port-Louis.

"Regarding salary surveys, I am battling to find either
a) any MUR recruitment agencies online, or
b) any salary survey info online.
In the spirit of the business vernture - I will earn local wages, but I need to figure out what they might be to see if its feasible."
Maybe this link will help:

"(I do remember that eating out etc certainly wasn't cheaper than Europe, but it sounds like accomodation and the normal cost of living certainly is? Supermarkets were quite cheap... so I cannot gauge the cost of living.)"
If you eat junk food on the streets (sorry, i know many people love it, i love it to but its not healthy food) you can eat like for 1 Euro per day. And after 30 days you'll have gastritis So, yep, eating in restaurants everyday can be like EUR 5-8 per day. If you buy your own stuff and prepare your own food, you'll save a lot. Anyway there are also sandwich shops where you can get a sandwich for EUR 1.50. Accomodation has prices that are low, in regions that you might not wish to stay, and prices that hit the sky in places that one will dream of to stay
Supermarkets, i think they are OK. Similar prices as Europe for products that are imported. You'll get a lot of SA brands. People live here on Rs. 5000 a month, its tight, Rs. 10 000 kind of normal. And with Rs. 25 000 you should be OK. Anything above that gets you in the comfort zone.

"Thanks for your assistance and time, very kind.
I certainly owe you a few drinks or a fishing trip when I finally arrive"
Yesterday morning while I was at the beach watching over the ocean, i was thinking its been quite a while that I haven't been out on the sea. So going for Fishing would be a nice option
