Hi,

I am thinking of moving to Mauritius to live there with my wife and young family. I would be really grateful if anybody could give me an idea about life over there.

I have lived in a few different places before but, have only just started researching Mauritius, so I do not know much about it. I am interested to find out about the standard of accomodation and the cost of living generally. What primary schools are like? How safe it is. What it is like culturally and, in what there is to do aside from watersports. I would also be interested to find out about the impact of tourism and whehter it is possible to get away from this sometimes? Simimlarly, I am curious to know whether how integrated foreigners are into the community - and whether the expats mix well with local people (e.g. do they go to the same bars, schools, sports clubs etc.) I am happy to meet other expats but, would not like to live in a ghetto.

I plan to come over later in the year but at this stage, anything information would be gratefully received!
