8 week rental

Hi. We are two students who will be on an 8 week placement in mauritius from the end of january to end of march. We have around 1500 euros to spend on acocmodation. We were looking to stay in the north of the Island. We were wondering how easy it would be to find accomodation when we arrive as we are struggling to find anything in our price range on the internet.
If anybody knows of any good sites to find accomodation for this length of time we would be really grateful!

I'll answer your questions first.

This is the peak season in Mauritius, prices will tend to be higher. But there are possibilities.

We were looking to stay in the north of the Island. We were wondering how easy it would be to find accomodation when we arrive as we are struggling to find anything in our price range on the internet.

You will need to book in advance, you cannot come to Mauritius without proof of residency, it will be requested at the airport. Especially for a long stay of 8 weeks you should sort this out now and not when you arrive, else if you don't find anything very quickly you will need to stay in hotel and pay a lot, prices are a bit higher at the end of january than the following months.
