Bonjour Francois,

how are you ? welcome to the Mauritius forum!

So, tell us a little bit more about the dolphins. Haven't heard much of them.

Which coast do you see them ? How was your experience seeing the dolphins, tell us a little bit more of the trip, preparations and how it went.

Would be happy to hear back from you.

Default swim with dolphins mauritius

Dear vito. The dolphins can be seen on the west coast of the isnald. The departure was at La Preneuse and Francois the skipper was so nice and professional. You can see about 150 - 300 of them. Two types oof dolphins are seen , Spinner Dolphins and the Bottle nose which are much playfull.
Something to be done.

Hi Francois,

is there a specific time or seasons where its good to go see the dolphins or can you go at any time in the day ?

Where there a lot of other boats or tourists ?

Were the dolphins calm ? I heard of some people that there are also some aggressive dolphins... Do you know anything about that.

Hope to hear from you soon, take care, bye bye.

Default swim with dolphins

Hi vito. Hope u ok.

The earlyer you go is better so the dolphins are quiet and theres no boats around them so the swiming is easyer.

Theres no agressive dolphins at all in Mauritius otherwise this activity will not be allowed by the Tourism Office. Researh are made everyday by the MMCS ( Mauritius Marine Conservative Society) and the biologists can give the guanrantee that the dolphins are pacific mamals.

Francois

Hi Francois,

how are you ? I was in tamarin a few days ago and talked to some people that live there. They tell me that the dolphins have not always been there before and that there are like several hundreds of dolphins that sleep there in the morning but there have been to many boats that go and see them and it disturbs them. I heard now the dolphins are kind of looking for a new location to rest and the are moving more in the direction of Le Morne and leaving a bit the tamarin area, do you know anything about this ?

Default dolphins swiming

Dear Vito. The dolphins has always been there before. They come in the Tamarin Bay in the morning for socialising not sleeping. They are not specially in the Tamarin bay everyday , its depends where the find their best place for playing. The person was right , sometimes they are further more south , sometime in front of Albion but they not leaving the west coast at all.

Hi Francois, thanks for these infos, didn't know that they were always there, when I was a child and when we went to tamarin, nobody talked about the dolphins. Have they been newly discovered there or before only they people in tamarin knew about it but didn't know it could be a great tourist attraction ?
I find dolphins are really fascinating, thats why I ask so many question hope you don't mind Tell us a bit more of you, are you a skipper or do you offer dolphin sightseeing tours ?
