History of Mauritius

I am writing from Ireland and wondering if someone could advise me on how I could get in contact with someone in relation to finding out about certain aspects of Mauritian history.

I have an ancestor who may have been the Governor or at least worked in the colonial government in Mauritius. I want to find out if there is any truth to it.


Any suggestions?
