Default Easter in Mauritius

Hi all,

easter is a big celebration in Mauritius. To commemorate the resurrection of christ and his victory over death and sin after 40 days of fasting its a tradition in Mauritius to end the fasting period at church with family and then to heave a great feast! Many decide to go to the beach and spend a marvellous day with their families and friends. How did you spend your easter in Mauritius or abroad ? The easter eggs are usually eaten as a desert! I don't think its common in Mauritius for children to go searching for hidden easter eggs ? In Germany its cold, but here its hot - the chocolate eggs would melt Anyway, let us know how you spent your easter.

I haven't really stood still by the fact it was Easter this year. I did have a great time though. The day before Easter, my wife, me and some friends had a great BBQ. Later, however, we realized that our neighbour is Catholic and was probably still fasting that day! I hope we haven't insulted them:|.

Besides the wonderful 'Braai' I do rejoice about the fact that Jesus came alive again and conquered death so that the human species have the chance to get into relationship with the ABBA again.

My Easter was a memorable time spent with my family and friends . Easter is the day, which make us to forget all our sadness and problems of life.. we simply enjoy each single second with a big smile , joy and love. In the morning, my family and I went to church to thank God for His sacrifices and for His blessing that he showers on us. Then in the afternoon, all my family and friends were at my place to share their meals, love and joy.....The only thing missing for that Easter was a big bunny bringing a basket of chocolates.....
