24. Februar 2005 Der Dodo, wissenschaftlich Raphus cucullatus und auf deutsch Dronte genannt, Mitglied der Familie der Rallen, war etwas größer als ein Truthahn, hatte kurze Beine, einen dicken Körper und auf einem langen Hals einen runden Kopf mit federlosem Gesicht und Hakenschnabel. Anstelle von Flügeln wuchsen ihm kurze Stummel, und statt eines Schwanzes hatte er einen dünnen Busch Federn in der Mitte des Rückens.
