The luxury villas are located near the remote coastal town of Poste Lafayette, one of the few remaining areas of untouched natural greenery. The village was named by the Abbé de la Caille, an eighteenth-century French astronomer who helped to plot the first detailed map of Mauritius.
The village is built around intersections on the coastal road, between the Indian Ocean and an extensive tropical forest. The shore of Poste Lafayette is lined with Casuarina trees, bent by the strong winter winds, which gives it a unique appearance.
In addition, this area has one of the most beautiful stretches of beach on the whole island. The clear, turquoise waters of the coral lagoon and the fine, white-sand beach are rarely disturbed by flocks of visitors. For a serene appreciation of the island’s beauty, this beach is the best location.
Seven minutes away is the village of Roches Noires which offers shopping opportunities for general necessities and fresh fish. The much larger city of Rivière du Rempart is about ten minutes drive away and has a number of banks, pharmacies, grocery stores and excellent markets for fresh fruit and vegetables. There are also a variety of clothing and general merchandise stores.
