Roches Noires is situated on the North East coast of the island. It is one of the few remaining unspoilt green spots on the island where one can find peace and tranquility. There are no hotels on this stretch of beach which comprises family bungalows. Most families have occupied the land for 5 generations. The bungalows are on the beach and separated from the green forested belt behind by a quiet country road which is ideal for walking, jogging and cycling.
The village of Roches Noires lies slightly inland and is separated from the beach by the road and a wide forested green belt. Access is 1,5 kms down the road from the villa. It offers some shopping for provisions including a fishmonger and fresh chickens, with small grocery shops. The much larger town of Riviere du Rempart is 8 minutes away by car and offers banks, pharmacy, grocery shops and excellent fresh vegetables and fruit. Also a variety of shops for clothing and general goods stores.
