Further Details concerning the Non Medical and Trip cancellation options
We wish to inform you about the following that you should consider when taking the insurance cover. You will also find more detailed information about this during the process where you get an online quote with the link at the bottom and of course in your policy.

Non Medical Option
In case of a burglary
Photo equipment and jewellery are covered max 25% of the insurance sum. Also, reimbursement for any individual object may never exceed 50% of the insurance sum. All other electronic equipment (laptops, mobile phones, mp3-players, etc.) and baggage (suitcases, clothing, toiletries, books, etc.) are covered up to the sum insured.

You must file a complaint with the police and keep a copy of the confirmed complaint by the police.

You will need to have the receipts of the items that were in your baggage.

You can make the claim online, or download claim forms there.

Baggage loss on arrival at the airport
First of all, do not put electronic items in your baggage but keep it in your hand luggage while you are travelling, else this will not be covered if there is a baggage loss.

If your baggage is not there on your arrival at the airport, please report this immediately in the baggage area of the airport. You will see some stands there where you can report this, or contact someone of the airline to assist you. It can happen sometimes that baggage gets delayed or comes with another aeroplane.

When you file your baggage loss with the airline company, you need a copy of this which you will need to send to the insurance company as proof that your baggage got lost.
Please also keep your receipts of the items that you have in your baggage so that the value of the items in the bag can be proven. Else their value will be evaluated. The amount and percentage covered will be the same as mentioned above in the case of a burglary.

Trip Cancellation option
When you cancel your trip you might incur losses. In order to get back some of those losses you should also take the trip cancellation option when you take the insurance policy.

Flight ticket and the booked accommodation are covered, the maximum reimbursement amounts to EUR 1450 per trip per insured and this is of course only if the insured cannot travel due to serious illness/injury requiring hospitalisation or medically prescribed as unfit to travel which means that the insurance company will also need a report from a doctor as proof. The cancellation option only applies when going that is leaving for your holiday and not when travelling back home.

You will need to show evidence of what you paid for so that the insurance company knows how much they need to give you back.
